I'm...honestly not sure. I did notice sleeping people after I fought Skywarp, but I wasn't planning on any more than that. So I can't confirm if that's possible.

I think it's safe to assume anyone who finds themselves awake is probably gonna do somethin', anyway. If nothing else, you can probably make sure someone you actually like doesn't bite it.
